We lived in an area where lots of cedar trees grew and we could go and chop our own tree and bring it home and decorate it.  We did not have expensive ornaments to put on the tree but my mom popped popcorn that we strung with a needle and thread.  We had glue and we cut strips of colored construction paper out, made rings, connected them, and strung the paper and pop corn on the tree.  We made snowflakes out of white paper and hung them on the tree. The tree was so beautiful.

The Christmas of my sixth year was an especially difficult year for my parents.  Of course, we did not realize this until years later when we would hear my parents and other adults talk about it.

The thing I remember about that very special Christmas was that everything was normal that Christmas Eve.  We were all excited about getting up on Christmas morning and looking to see what would be under the tree for us from Santa.  Nothing was under the tree when we went to bed Christmas Eve.  During the night I woke up and went into the room where the Christmas tree was and I saw my mother doing something with a doll.  She did not see me so I went back to bed. On Christmas morning we were all excited and I was not sure if what I had seen during the night was a dream or not.  Sure enough under the tree were gifts for each of us.  My sister and I got dolls all dressed up just like a Barbie doll would look like today.  We both loved our dolls and it was just what we were hoping we would get.

Years later I asked my mother about that Christmas and she remembered it too and told the story behind that Christmas Eve night.  My mother was an excellent seamstress she made all the clothes in our family for my dad, her and us kids.  She told me that they could not afford gifts that year for us and she was so disappointed.  She came up with the idea to take old dolls we had and clean them up and make new doll clothes for the dolls.  So what I saw that night was my mother putting the doll clothes she had made on the old dolls she had cleaned up.  I do not even remember the dolls and that we had the dolls already all I remember is that the dolls were so beautiful and had such gorgeous clothes on I thought I was just given a $50 doll.

We are so blessed in this country with the freedoms and abundance we have.  It is not about how much gifts cost at Christmas time but the love we share with family and friends that is worth far more than money.

My number 1 goal was to go into business for myself so I could be my own boss and live life the way I had so often dreamed and I have met that goal. Being an internet entrepreneur has served me well and will continue to do so in the future. We all need goals and we continually have to keep our eyes open for opportunities to achieve those goals. Goals make life worth living! As you achieve each goal you set you look back and say WOW! Did I really do that? You set goals to keep your mind, body and spirit active. I love to learn and as an RN (in my previous life) I want to stay abreast of medical practice and as such I am on track to finish my Bachelors of Science before the end of this year. Increasing your intelligence will always be beneficial to you as a person by the confidence, self-esteem, and respect you command.

In every crisis there is opportunity. Our world is in a crisis and if you are going to live in it you will either be on the losing end of it or the winning end of it. I am no different than you. I am not smarter than you. I do not have a high IQ. I just have the will and determination to make a decision, set a goal, and stick to it no matter what happens to me today.

SET YOUR GOALS HIGH AND HONOR THEM NO MATTER WHAT!

Suddenly I see a sign up ahead that says 2 miles to my coast highway exit WOW! What a short trip. How great it is to be so happy that a 2 to 3 hour trip seems like nothing. When I arrive at my destination it is about 1PM and I am just a little hungry so I go to my favorite place to have fish and chips (why would anyone eat anything else beside fresh fish at the coast!!) and sit out by the ocean in the glorious sun, relaxing and watching the beach goers. When I leave the restaurant I go for walk on the beach and stop every now and then and just look out at the ocean. I walk on the pier and watch for the seals and the birds that entertain. As the day closes I watch the beautiful sunset and give thanks again that I am in a position to be here at this time wishing others could know the peace and contentment I have from knowing I have wealth, health, and prosperity and no one can ever take that away from me.
